7-3 to end the year????

Recommended Posts

Time to clean the slate. We should go 7-3 the rest of the conference season with the only losses against Vermont, BU and either Northeastern or Binghamton.

That would put us at 15-12 and 11-7 heading into the conference tournament probably as a #4 seed with a favorable quarterfinal matchup. Obviously, that prediction is being optimistic.

There is really no reason why this team shouldn't win atleast 13 games.

It is obvious that the top three teams are rock solid. We just need to stay ahead of those six teams below us right now.

Here's what I think we have to be concerned with. If we can accomplish some of this the "Ws" will take care of themselves.

1. We need Lucious, Jamar and Levi to lead the way.

2. We need something other than a "3" from Brent Wilson.

3. "Q" has to reappear and Kirsten has to appear.

4. Brian Lillis must bring energy and hit a couple of shots.

If "1" happens consistently and two of 2,3 and 4 happen each game we should be fine.

38 TOs in our last 2 games (on the road) are scary. We have to get down to 10 or 11 per game.

If you turn the ball over 21 times against a good defensive team like Vermont, that means you're not getting shots 21 times down the floor, and that can't happen." - Brown T.U.

Patch,

Agree with your post. If they can just control the turnovers, they should be able to beat most teams in this league. Would be great to get something more from Brent, however he is one of the most consistent 3 point shooters.

If they can Zoellner to get back to the level he played vs. Binghamton, that will help as well.

You can go to Burlington and lose. But you can't go to UMBC and lose like they did. Ahead in the second half only to lose the lead against a weaker team is an indication that the 'killer instinct' is not yet developed. There a lot of cliches about 'learning how to win'. That type of outcome in an indication that we're not yet ready to make a statement.
