Any chance Michigan State changes it's mascot from the Spartan to a cop in riot gear?

 

After their loss last night in the final four they had another riot on the streets in East Lansing. I had a friend who used to teach there and I remember giving him a hard time after the 1999 riots. Last nights events prompted a terrific quote from the school president

 

"If you look at where we'd been and where we are (now), we have made considerable progress," Michigan State president Lou Anna Simon said.

 

Huh? Could they possibly have said that with a straight face? I guess there were only 60 arrests last night compared with 130 in 199 so that is progress.
