Though this subject has died down in recent days, here is some food for thought on our favorite talking topic: Will Brown's (non) contract

 

This is from a piece on Fox Sports about Bob Huggins tenure at Cincinnati possibly coming to a close:

 

It is imperative Cincinnati makes a decision about Huggins' contract term because recruiting for the class of 2006 already is well underway. As it stands, players who would enter the program for the 2006-07 season would be playing for a coach with a one-year contract. That's extremely difficult for any coach to sell and almost unheard of in the current major-college environment.

Totally agree, we haven't filled our last ship and it's not easy to do with a lame duck coach, which is what we have at this time. It's time to get this done. I can't believe we're letting Brown twist in the wind like this. Damage is being damage to the program, regardless of what anyone says.

I'm sure we might have tried to get some transfers like Lucious and Kirsten to fill our last scholarship, but if you are a coach with no contract, you are not in the position to recruit for the long term success of the program. You've got to recruit for next season as it may be your last.

If Huggins is in the same situation as Brown at Cincinnati, maybe President Hall is the one who determines the fate of our coaching situation.

I noticed the President touting our athletes academic success in his speech. UA's numbers rank very well in that regard.
