Field Hockey not ready for Siena

Recommended Posts

Thanks for posting the picture - I kind of expected the website to have up to date pictures of the progress.

It looks like it will be tight to get it done in time for the two home games next weekend. Do they have to paint a lot of lines for field hockey? That may take a bit of time once the turf is down.

Is the lax field going down after this is done or have they started preparing that site?

The lax field in the background has been graded and I think the footings are in, but there are layers of fabric and gravel to be added before the asphalt (if this uses the same construction as FH, I know they will have different brands of surfaces). The lax field looks to be about a month behind FH. There are big concrete bases for the light poles; the posts in this picture (actually three at each end of the field) are too far apart for scoreboards, and too short and wrongly placed for lights, so I don't know what they are.

Hartford has (or had) live webcams showing construction of their new athletic fields. Pretty boring most of the time, and useless at night, but I like the idea anyway.

I see we won the game tonight, so we're now 2-0 vs. Siena. We had no saves, so they didn't get through our defense. I haven't seen any field hockey in years, but I'll definitely try to catch a game on the new fields.
