It's garbage because they are hosting Villanova. I'm not saying it's garbage that they are playing them. How the hell does SBU get to host Villanova?

Jay Wright came from Hofstra and played Stony Brook when they were starting up.

 

Wright also worked for Rollie Massamino at Villanove and Rollie was a head Coach at Stony Brook (DIII).

 

Jay has alot of ties to LI and the Brook.

 

It's hard to believe but not to outrageous. I'm sure somehow there is a benefit in it for Nova. They may get a small payday and the game doesn't affect RPI much because it's a road win.

It's actually better for the first 25% of your RPI to play SB on the road if you are Nova. Under the new weighted system, road wins are are multiplied by a factor of like 1.3 (not sure the actual number) whereas home wins get a .7 (once again, not sure of the number).
