If we take care of business against Maine on Wednesday night, we'll be 5-2 with a week to prepare for the January 30th matchup against UMBC at their place. Then, we have a mini stretch of games that we should be very competitive in -- to wit, Stonybrook (BPG), New Hampshire (home), and Hartford (home) -- before heading to Vermont.

If we hold serve against our next 4 home opponents -- Maine, Stonybrook, N.H., and Hartford, and go 1-1 on the road against UMBC and Vermont, we'll be in great shape. As a fan, I would be thrilled with that outcome for our next 6 games. That would put us at 9-3. Win at home in games where we'll be favored, and steal one on the road from arguably the two toughest teams in the league, UMBC and Vermont.

What is great about our basketball schedule, viewed at this point in the season, is that the students are back as of January 23 (classes start at 8am on Wednesday, January 23, see http://www.albany.edu/catalogs_calendars_s...pring_2008.htm), so I want to see big student turnout from here on out, starting with the game against Maine this week! The students really make a difference as far as the atmosphere for home games goes!
