Inside Lacrosse Mid-Season Reviews

Recommended Posts

UA gets the following mid-season review from Inside LAX:

Albany

What they’ve done: Reeled off four wins in a row since using Princeton as a punching bag on March 21. Prior to that, the Danes felt the frustration mount when an opening season loss to Hopkins parlayed into four one-goal losses to Notre Dame, Delaware, UMass and Drexel. It’s been a see-saw season for Scott Marr’s 4-5 squad, and he has to hope that the up-turn continues.

What they can do: Head into the NCAA Tournament with an 11-game win streak if they keep up the momentum, topping UMBC (twice) and Syracuse along the way. If the Great Danes hope to do so, they’ll have to show they can win on the road; their lone away victory came Saturday at Hartford, and their two remaining regular season highlight games both come outside the friendly confines of UA.

What they can’t do: Put too much stock in their victories. Princeton and Siena could both end up in the postseason, but they could also find themselves at home in early May. Also, with the increased competitiveness of the America East, the Danes would be well-served to finish out the season undefeated in conference play and put themselves in position to avoid Stony Brook or UMBC in the first round.
