Not sure if all our teams besides football are at the limit. I think so, but not sure. I think Coach Ford said we're at 32 for football, which is the NEC limit which increases by 2 each year.

It looks as if the indoor track, outdoor track, and cross country are all considered one program in terms of scholarships. Only 12.6 for men and 18 for women for the entire crew?

If all teams max out, the ladies have 17 more scholarships currently.... if I'm crunching these numbers correctly.

By the time we hit the NEC football scholarship ceiling of 40 in 2013,

the women will still have 9 more scholarships. If conference affiliation changed or something else happened, we could add to the football scholarships to 49, before worrying about the TITLE IX thing.

If we ended up boosting football scholarships past 49 to 63 ... we would end of with 14 more scholarships for men. Seeing that the women have had, and will have had, a significant number of scholarships greater than men for a good chunk of time ( although we don't MAX out on the NCAA alotted FCS football scholarships ) .... could we avoid having to do anything in terms of TITLE IX? It's not that much of a difference.

Title IX is not as simple as counting scholarships. Its a numbers game that is usually done based on male-to-female ratio of the student body in general.

Additionally, its not only about scholarships - its about spending to some extent. Football skews the numbers greatly because the cost of running a football program is much higher than other sports.
