We're now playing ZERO FBS games and SBU is playing 2 next year.

Buffalo and UTEP.

Wins in either are not out of the realm of possibility for SBU either. sleep.gif

Possible on paper, but not likely. I recall the AGS posts in 2009 giving G-W a win against us. Then we steamrolled them for 500+ yards. Next, in this first year of Jeff Quinn's spread offense with a cast of new starters who struggled to score vs FBS teams, we had no issues with URI..who slipped by Brown..who slipped by SBU. SBU may lose only three offensive starters, but we lose just one. The main culprit of our losing was the O-line, with no depth and youth then crippled by injuries leaving us with only 6 able bodies (only 2 quality ones at C, LG). With three injured former-starters returning with a slew of others the line should improve greatly, which if fully healthy in Wk 2 should spell trouble for SBU when we unleash this R-Fr. SBU has big DL's and LB's, but so did G-W and URI.

UTEP is an oddity. CUSA, great facilities and fans, a name coach, but not scary at all on the field. We smoked them in 2008 then a close UB win in EP in 2009.

Stony Brook faced its first Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponent in South Florida last season, and will travel to face University of Texas at El Paso and Buffalo in 2011. Future schedules include Army, Boston College and Cincinnati.
