I know that they are not a very good football team but I am truly amazed that Rhode Island isn't even mentioned. I looked at their schedule last year and they seemed competitive in most of the games and since they are still in the CAA for this year (at least) I am truly surprised that they aren't even considered the best team in their state. I mean, correct me if I am wrong but every other team in the CAA is in the poll. Could they really be that bad this year?

They are the only CAA team not receiving any votes.

This poll gets screwy after you get beyond the Top 25 (and even in the Top 25 sometimes).

For example, Georgia State received more votes than us, yet they haven't even played a down in CAA football yet and are coming off a 3-8 season with losses to a few DII teams.

Its a media poll, so the media voters are generally not aware of the national FCS scene. If your local beat writer doesn't vote, your basically SOL.

Santillo from the Troy Record does vote....although he said he did not have us in the Top 25 for the preseason poll.....I think he's right on that too. We need to establish a QB before we can be considered a Top 25 team.
