Story in the TU and on the Univesity's site about Nick Casale who won the Capital District Student Scholarship. I'm pretty sure his brother Anthony was a red-shirt at Stony Brook last year. That should be pretty good story in a couple years.

NICK CASALE RECEIVES CAPITAL DISTRICT STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP AT GIANTS MEDIA DAY

Albany, N.Y. -- James P. Doellefeld, vice president for student affairs, has named Nick Casale as the recipient of the Capital District Student Scholarship, sponsored by New York Giants Football, Inc. and the University at Albany. Casale, a native of Waterford, N.Y. and 2004 graduate of La Salle Institute in Troy, will be recognized as part of a welcome program at Giants Media Day on Wednesday, July 28.

The Giants Media Day Program is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. under a tent on the campus' Dutch Quad Field. Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, University Interim President John R. Ryan and City of Albany Common Council President Helen Desfosses are expected to speak at the program.

Casale, who is a Presidential Scholar and will play football for UAlbany in the fall, was a consensus All-Area offensive center and linebacker at LaSalle. He was named to the Troy Record first team, and was a second-team selection by the Albany Times Union and Daily Gazette. Casale, who made 88 tackles on defense and blocked for one of the area's top rushers, was also a first-team All-Big 10 League selection. His parents are Tony and Mary Anne Casale. Nick has two brothers, Anthony and Marc, and one sister, Gianna. Casale, who plans to study business administration, served as president of his school's National Honor Society.

The Capital District Student Scholarship provides Casale with a monetary award equivalent to the tuition costs of four years at the University at Albany. This year marks the ninth consecutive summer that UAlbany has hosted the Giants training camp. The first practice sessions will be held on Friday, July 30 and continue through Wednesday, August 25.
