100% agree. Thus my post on giving time to DK to learn and grow as a head coach instead of calling for his head now. The ability to calm and inspire your team takes time to learn. (disclaimer: unless the lawsuit brings out more than what we know today and isn't just sour grapes for an incident that I don't think was that bad the way it has been explained to me)

Yeah we are to look just at the basketball aspect of it it’s early and seems like it’s correctable stuff. No real home gym to play at. Practicing on a make shift practice court. Still have plenty of time before conference play.

UA was up 6 a few minutes earlier. UA scored only 2 points in the last 5 minutes.

If the 10 minute streak of terrible play continues, the first 5 minutes of tomorrow night are going to be rough.

Might be the optimism on my part, but seems like this is something that can be corrected. If the team was getting blown out every game from beginning to end then it would be a bigger problem.

Can’t tell too much from live stats but it was neck and neck until Marcus Jackson got a FT and teed up on the same play. Four made free throws a missed UA trey and a made trey by AP turned it around. And the Danes collapsed.

Looking at the score it doesn’t look close at all. It did show they were leading at the half by 2. How deep was it into the game where this happened?

What if this happened...? I will say it again...I'm interested in the truth not making sure the athletic program is OK.

All good with just canceling the season. Idc if the athletic program is ok or not either lol. Fire killings benson, let all the players and coaches look for new schools. It’s the way the player stayed quiet and played all year and then something turned.

Genuine question- where do you feel he goes after his teammates?

3 and 4 of the nature of action. Claimed all his teammates saw it and didn’t report anything. The locker room culture was a reason he didn’t say anything. Would be like him not wanting to be seen as ‘soft’ around his teammates.

What a mess. In a sense he’s going after all of his teammates as well. His former coach and trainer as to drive HOURS away to tell him to let his parents know.

I’d say fire killings, but this would mean he sees his payout. I hope he gets nothing and is continues to be blacklisted.

Was hoping for no payout for either party. Wasn’t even thinking about what he’d be owed if fired.

What are you talking about   These cases are on contingency

You are right. Don’t know how that process works, but I know it still pays to come from money as his family probably knew the best firms out there that would listen and entertain taking them on. He’s not some poor inner city kid who got tossed around by his coach.

So if he was given his promised scholarship he would have been ok with getting thrown up against a locker? Killings will land on his feet somewhere else and Fiz will still be blacklisted.

The under DI portion of the schedule was/is a TOTAL DISGRACE. The TEAM, Coaching staff, water/towel person, All Involved, need to acknowledge and hopefully FIX IT.

They are playing three Atlantic 10 teams, a Big East, ACC, MAC, and a C-USA team. If they do that every year I’m ok with them putting two D2 teams on the schedule.

*if you meant how they played in the D2 games nvm. I thought you meant how they have two D2 games on the schedule.

  11. Haven’t watched a single game yet, but as far as I’m concerned they’ve only played 2 real games. Towson and Siena. Towson picked 1st in the CAA they hung with till the end without Neely. Siena a double digit lead lost in the 2nd half and a collapse. Still early, but seems to me the talent is there, luckily there are plenty of games left to try and get this team to gel.

Getting a C-USA team at home when they don’t even have a home is impressive. How’d they pull that one off? Even though C-USA is a shell of its old self, its still impressive.

On paper (which I know the games are not played ), he is not a bad player.  It's a bad signing.

Unless Amica, listed at 6'0, is hurt this is a bad signing.  Reports were he was our best player in the fall last year.

Now you have LISTED, 5'10 Edmean. 6'0 Amica. And 6'0 Davis (who I'm sure did not come here for a year to sit the bench.)

All small point guards who really can't play together.  I know Amica is hurt a lot but if we can get lucky and he plays I would expect him to play 25-30 mins a game and have a real Impact.  Does not leave much for 2 guys. Seems very much like a waste.

When has adding depth to the PG position ever been a waste? To think Amica is capable of playing 25-30 min a game is a bit absurd.

I'm pretty sure we're not going to hear what actually happened. The walk-on who played the game for free is packing while the guys who make six-figure salaries hire PR firms to obscure things as much as possible.

Here's what I've seen from the outside over the past year:

-the Calipari testimonial at the opening presser didn't sit well.

-the hiring of Tibbs from Vermont with a scandal didn't sit well.

-this past year, I saw more players get techs for mouthing off to officials than I remember in the last 10 years of Albany basketball.

-Now, there's whatever the hell this was that puts a cloud over the men's basketball program, no matter how many PR firms get hired.

Now what was so wrong with John Calipari saying coach Killings was a good person? You must have been appalled when the team took the guarantee game in 2015 against Kentucky then.

Players mouthing off to officials. Yup the Killings lead Albany team is the only team to do that today.

If it wasn’t accidental, then it was intentional. If it was intentional then it opens up a whole can of worms.

Like you said there’s a lot of unanswered questions still. Also to be exact, the letter says he made inappropriate physical contact with the player in a team hype circle. You can probably consider it inappropriate contact every time a coach slaps a player in the ass or chest after a big shot or play.

The statements seem too wrap it up in a neat package....a little too neat for me. If it was isolated and accidental, was he confronted by the player? Did he apologize and think it was over? Did he know he was required to report it? WHO reported it three months later and why?

The original word “accidental” was used by a reporter on Twitter per sources that said Killings claims it was accidental. Again no one knows exactly what happened, but people are ran with that tweet where the word accidental was used.

All the local papers and news outlets ran off of this specific tweet. No where is a direct quote from Killings saying it was accidental. It is Jeff Goodman who is using the word accidental from whatever sources he spoke with.

  17. It’s been almost a week of this nonsense and only the coach has given a detailed statement of what occurred. If it’s a lie, I’d hope someone from the basketball team, trainer, manager, or player would come out and say it in the next few days. Hype circles I would think involve the entire team. At this point I doubt the player involved will say anything about the incident as there has to be NDA’s out the wazoo.
