I am going to say it...been holding it in for awhile:

This is a POORLY constructed basketball team with low basketball IQ, and a total lack of understanding about how to play even some of the most basic defensive sets you can teach.  Defense wins basketball games.  I am sorry, DK literally has ZERO clue how to teach these guys how to play defense...and frankly has recruited kids who can't play defense.

I give Gattuso credit: he embraced the portal and hit it big.  If DK doesn't embrace the portal next year AND  change his playing style philosophy, there is ZERO chance he stays past his fifth year.  It's the same $iena, every day.

    I just turned it off.

DK has to start giving some hope.

Jimbo Fisher made an interesting thought on Pardon My Take the other day. He said he agrees with letting kids do what they gotta and gets the free agency aspect of things. He states the issue is imagine professional teams having every single team as Free Agents every year. That’s what college, especially football, sports is right now. Said that is hard to sustain.

I know the education aspect is the last thing considered but how does all this work in terms of earning your degree?

If I play collegiately at 5 different schools in 5 different years do I automatically get my degree from the last school? Are all credits transferable? Because I would go totally nomadic for the first four years and then finish at Harvard,  Princeton, or Yale for one year if that was the case.

As long as I’m venting…..I can’t understand Poff’s motive unless it’s just to measure himself against a higher level or he really needs the NIL money. I mean, he’s got a lot of polishing up to do before he’s an elite QB at the FBS or NFL level. He’s a great FCS QB, he’s not Drew Breese. The thing is, if he stuck around he’d have a chance at really attracting attention. Try some of those risky sideline passes against SEC speed DBs and his nickname will change from Poff the Magic Dragon to Poff Pick 6.

Check out Undercuffler’s stats at Akron, one of the worst teams in one of the weakest conferences in FBS. 4 tds. 9 ints . -201 yds rushing . 1378 yds passing.

    +1000!

Poff had it made it his current situation.  He got national exposure and pulled in a bunch of his friends.  2 more years of that and he goes from national exposure to national headlines.  Now he risks becoming irrelevant.

But GD06's hypothesis about Arkansas was pretty astute...just saying.

Actually he had three 50+ kicks in HS when he was almost 20 lbs lighter, 55 yds, 54 yds and 52 yds - saw them all on tape.  Hasn't been asked to kick anythng beyond 46 yds this year though.

The high school version wasn't in Idaho.  No doubt he still has a leg; the kick was just a lot to ask at the time.

I think we have to do a much better job on special teams and avoid giving up big plays.  We’re just not good at kickoff and punt coverage so I’m hoping we don’t try to kick / punt deep - don’t want to give them good field position.  Also, Wentz had a fumbled punt against Richmond, almost had another fumble last week (punt almost hit him) against Idaho and unnecessary returned a kick from his end zone and only got back to the 18 yard line against Idaho.  We just can’t have those mistakes tonight.

Villanova actually played well last week but they had a blocked punt, another punt that hit one of their players behind the line os scrimmage and then they gave up a long run to Davis late in the game.  They might have lost anyway but you can’t beat a great team with those mistakes.

jus hoping that Joe Bernard has the special teams ready tonight.

There were three play calls that really had me scratching my head in the Idaho game, not including the decision to kick to their quality returner.  Two of those plays were on special teams:

    1) In the 1st quarter asking your kicker to attempt a FG well out of his range because you were in "no-man's land."

    2) 2nd and goal...3rd quarter? Pulling Reese and lining WR Roy Alexander up as the QB.

    3) The formation for the 2 point conversion.  That kind of formation gets you featured in a YouTube video...of the "non-highlight" variety.

Yes, very unfortunate.  We are now down 3 players, with J. Cooper leaving school and Ida Allberg red-shirted.  Quite often Fatima would provide points off the bench for us. Just my guess, but maybe she wasn’t too happy with newcomer Sarah Karpell playing the point 36-40 mpg.  Regardless, the bench becomes shorter. Would be nice now if someone other than Huerter could score off that bench.

But where the hell is she going to go? The season is 10 games old.

Me no likey. (I'm mad at losing her...not at your post. LOL)
