On the U A Football web page>>> UALBANY FOOTBALL TO ANNOUNCE NLI SIGNINGS NEXT WEEK UAlbany Sports Information 12-13-2017 ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany football program expects to announce its first members of this year’s recruiting class next week during the new early signing period for high school prospective student-athletes. NCAA legislation passed this past spring created a new signing period for football between Wednesday, Dec. 20, and Friday, Dec. 22, during which time prospective student-athletes currently in high school can sign and submit their National Letters of Intent. Junior-college transfers also can sign their NLIs between Dec. 20 and Jan. 15, and all prospective student-athletes can sign during the traditional spring signing period, which this year begins Feb. 7 and continues through April 1. UAlbany plans to announce any signings during the early period on UAlbanySports.com and on social media, including the program’s official Twitter page (@UAlbanyFootball).

Inside Lacrosse Yearbook
HOF2013 replied to AlbanyFan2018's topic in Spring Sports-Baseball, Lacrosse, Softball, Track + Golf
Just my 2 cents. I completely agree on the social media thing. Some of the FB coaches are on there every day and ALL of them have twitter accounts and post, at least once in a while. -
I was wating to see if he was coming on board. He was at the first official visit day last week with a bunch of the guys - commits and non-commits. He has to lose a little weight I think or work hard to get in better shape.and work on his speed. I agree>> Foot speed. If he is willing to put in the work he could be a good one. Now if a couple more who have been offered and who were visited at home come on it will be a great class! Couple of stud Jr. College linebackers were offered last month. Need 'em , lost a couple to graduation!

Sorry but I do not want to comment specifically. 4.43, 4.50, 4.57, even 4.6 seems more in line with DHB, although they offered a couple of guys in the 4.7 range. As a former track coach [and FB HS coach] who worked with sprinters and jumpers I'll tell you. Have him do high knees and sprints UPHILL or in a stadium - Lots of them. That will help leg strength and therefor speed a little. ALSO interval work, 500 yd sprint, couple of 400s, couple of 300s, 3l 200s and then 5-6 100s. Of course 1 - 2 min rest between each. Will kill him unless he is in shape BUT it will help with leg strength and speed. Do these two days per week. The guys with 4.7 that they have offered are more up front guys Like ML OSL . NOT that 4.7 is slow and they have offered a couple of guys with 4.7. If he wants leg up an alum brother and a tiny bit more speed this will help his cause. When will he graduate? If he will next summer he can still work on speed but not as much time. between me and you some kids are intimidated a little out of HS with SO MANY other kids vying for what turns out to be a few spots relatively. He should do what he feels is best for himself. We both love UA and had great experiences. Maybe a visit with some of the guys on the team or recruits. Not sure how to set it up though. Tweet Coach Gatusso. His link is on the AU FB twitter page. You can private PM him and tell him you are an alum etc etc etc. Just a suggestion. Bottom line having worked with HS kids for a long time you gotta let him do what is good for him brother! My son went to Syracuse his first semester and transferred to UA - Coach Ford got him accepted in one day [he was 4.0 student] and he played lacrosse at UA. His senior year was the year we went Div 1 - he had to stop playing because of his back - long stick defense - Jack called me and told me he was going to hurt himself badly if he did not stop. Oh well - we all want our brothers, sons, cousins to play at UA!!!! But they have to do what is best for them By the way your little brother looks like a good one to me!!!! I sent his hudl link in a tweet to Coach Gatusso - who knows if he will respond, look at it etc etc And also to Dave Plungas - who is the recruiting coordinator. Up to them what, if anything happens. Not sure if they like Alums sending them tweets about players but so be it!

Well they have been made offers. Doesn't mean they will come on board. Many of the guys that were offered during the year have committed elsewhere or haven't committed anywhere yet. There are a couple of good ones committed I would say. Some studs were made offers to. This past weekend was an official visit day. I don't know who they brought in except for Joseph Halasy 6' 5 1/2" 240 lbs DE/LT out of Brooklyn who tweeted that he was here.
