  1. Eli. I don't believe it - unless he is relaying them upstairs and they are coming back down to Bernard who actually has the LARGE play card and Bernard is then giving them to the coach to send it. There are times when Gatusa is not watching the play call but is pacing down the side line. Have coached for a long time, I just do not find that plausible. Why would he go off on Bernard then after the stupid play calling during the game Saturday?
  2. Rankings are BS. Villanova and Richmond STILL higher than Albany - 2 losses each
  3. Hey Eli - we both know Bernard is terrible. They HAVE to stop throwing Sussman out there just to run him. Everyone in the League and stadium knows that's what they do. Maybe step up like he's going to run and the stepping back and throwing, Doing a play action, a little option, ANYTHING!!!! Running straight dives against what has been the best run defense in the league is just plain stupid. Do a counter, off tackle, option, PLAY ACTION, anything else!! Then throw - they had the second from the worst PASS defense in the league. Can't just randomly call plays or stick with a game plan that is not working - KNOW who you are playing. Just saying!! What a dominating game but we still could not score much. Defense played their hearts out and won the game! Of course I have always believed, as a player and coach for many years that great defense ALWAYS beats great offense.
  4. That was a great finish - The Defense was awesome except for a couple of unnecessary penalties. Coach Clarke was GOING OFF on the defense about being under control and not making stupid penalties - the late hit out of bounds - cost us. Bruson was awesome!!
  5. I have season tickets and haven't missed a game in years - I can tell you the crowd was screaming at Bernard as much as Coach Gatuso did
  6. I agree with all you guys - It is OBVIOUS to ALL of us AND to the other team When they bring in Sussman EVERYONE knows he is going to run the ball - Have him take a step step back and toss a 10 or 15 yard pass, have him do a play action ANYTHING!
  7. John Andersen Tight End - played at Buffalo but NOT FB - track & field Vincent Testaverde QB played at Texas Tech, 2014 [one game did okay] - Miami 2015 and 2016 [RedShirted in 2015] [Taxi Squad] Testaverde has to sit out this season and will have 1 year of eligibility left.
  8. Did everybody see the first time appearance on the roster THIS WEEK of the two new guys???
  9. Appearing for the first time THIS WEEK on the roster both of these guys John Andersen Position: Tight End Year: Junior Hometown: Wappingers Falls, N.Y. High School: Roy C. 10. https://dailygazette.com/article/2017/09/20/ualbany-s-nanticoke-making-positive-1st-impression Nice story!
  11. Hey folks get a group together and do a tailgate before the game - won't need too many trips to the concessions!! W e seldom make any except during cold weather.
  12. I have had row A seats 205 section for years - great - have to look through the railing when they are in the southern endzone area- who cares GREAT views and GREAT seats. I donated $450 PLUS the costs of 3 season tickets but I am a FB alum so I don't mind. I have had them for several years now. I also think the cost is high compared to others in the league. But as I mentioned don't mind. I donate several times during the year to cover it. I watch ALL of the mens Lacrosse games on the computer except for BIG games at casey Stadium -we attend those. I agree with others though. This is DI Football - the CAA is NOT midlevel Div 1. Most experts believe it is the top FCS league in the nation. ALWAYS has more teams in the top 25 than any other League. From May 2017 posting 1. Missouri Valley Football Conference (10 teams) 2. CAA Football (12 teams) 3. Big Sky Conference (13 teams) 4. Southern Conference (9 teams) 5. Southland Conference (11 teams) 6. Big South Conference (6 teams) [of which Monmouth is a member] 7. Ohio Valley Conference (9 teams) 8. Patriot League (6 teams) 9. Ivy League (8 teams) 10. Northeast Conference (7 teams) 11. Southwestern Athletic Conference (10 teams) 12. Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (11 teams) [of which Morgan State is a member] 13. Pioneer Football League (11 teams) From Fox Sports > CAA Football or the Missouri Valley Football Conference? There’s really no right or wrong answer as to which is the best conference in the FCS. The CAA had the final say last season when its champion, James Madison, defeated MVFC member Youngstown State in the FCS championship game.
  13. He committed on Feb 9th - I wonder why his name has appeared nowhere
  14. Chris Ryan, Attack/Midfield, Monte Vista, 2017 – Albany Ryan was the most outstanding player on the field for either team Friday night. A quick, gritty right-handed playmaker, Ryan is loose, relentless and unpredictable as a dodger and shooter, and he showed the quick hands to make some really high-level feeds either coming out of his dodges or as defenders gave him a second with his hands free. He rarely stops his feet. He isn’t bothered by checks. Ryan has incredible snap on his shots. He has a quick trigger both to shoot and feed and some of his passes had that same pop that his shots did. One of his goals came as he took a feed a GLE, hesitated and then power-cradled to the front of the crease through checks and scored with ease. He scored another on the break, catching the ball and simply snapped his hands to put the ball directly into the bottom right corner. One of his assists was a slick lever pass to a cutter inside. He is an emotional jolt for his team and a fun player to watch. He led the way with four goals and an assist.
  15. he is shown as Attack on his profile. Committed School Albany Grad Year 2017 Position Attack High School Monte Vista HS Hometown San Ramon, CA Player Image
  16. Listened to Roger Wylands interview with Coach Gatusso the other day. Said they were basically letting him decide when he was ready - he has been released by Drs. Trainers etc. As good as Mofor looked it might be good for him to wait until next week's home game
  17. I went through all the middies listed on a couple of Cal sites - All-Americans and such. Four or five were committed to other schools. None to Albany. Still looking
