I like the NIL idea Wyatt is proposing if I am reading correctly. We aren’t Duke or UConn and can offer big money to convince guys to stay and play…sounds like the NIL is going to setup a network that is going to specifically find NIL deals w companies etc. I love that he wants to throw in the education aspect of helping with taxes and financials. As a HS social studies/economics teacher, the idea of making sure these guys understand and know the financial literacy for long term success makes me love the mind set.
For a mid-major program, it’s not a bad model. The question is do players buy in (no pun intended).

What?? Footbal went 11-3 last year and to the semi-finals in the national tournament - football brings in literally many $100's of thousands every year!!!
Talking overall success. Of course football did good. I’m saying on the field success seems to be in spring sports.

Would someone be able to copy and paste the article or send to me for me to read. Don’t have TU subscription.

I laugh at these new things at UA. My time there was no Broadview Arena, just University Gym, no Casey Stadium, just University Field, no business building, just Collins Circle, no science library, just a big lawn for Mayfest. Must be nice to have these upgrades over the past 40+ years.
I graduated just as these things were finishing or in their infancy. Even when I have been back on campus over years, I still find new stuff that has been built after me.

Lowell is going to win men's

Almost done…women about to win is a cake walk. Pretty much down to Lowell and UA in the men’s. Lowell up by about 20 pts with 3 events left.

Outside of baseball, which we have discussed, Spring Sports seem to be really propelling athletics. Want to see how track and field finish today. WLax looking good so far this morning. Softball playing really strong going into tourney.

Gives us a chance for a NCAA Tourney win. To me, anything after yesterday is playing with house money.

Hailee Ford and Marie Sepp recently and the three freshman who disappeared early in the season - Jessica Cooper, Ida Allberg, and Selina Monestime.
So in other words no dam breaks on the women’s side

Here is a question...I know focus is on MBB...but how many, if any, of the WBB team has entered the portal? One program is near top of AE, while the other isn't.

I’m saying the fact everyone is leaving is a joke. This program is a laughing stock right now.

Lol…what a joke

UA gets in with the AQ. UVM also in. Bracket and schedule release tomorrow. Looking at teams in, yes the WNIT is the 3rd tier postseason women’s tourney. Who cares if you ask me. Glad the ladies get to play a little more.

The WBIT Tournament is now more prestigious than WNIT. WBIT it run by NCAA. WNIT is not.

They are skipping because the portal opens tomorrow. They wanna focus on recruiting and maintaining guys. That’s why many are skipping.

Ok...what I have been reading and that is being said by many coaches and CBB reporters after the brackets released is that big time conferences should not be scheduling good mid-major teams. Many major programs should just pay reasonable buy games and let them run-up the score on those mid-majors. If that is the case/trend UA should not be scheduling DII or DIII teams from this point forward. I would rather go get my ass beat and learn playing those teams then play these cupcakes. At least I wouldn't feel as crappy about an under .500 season. Give me an all DI schedule from this point on.
By the way, at this point the NIT is a mid-major tournament. The amount of major programs skipping the NIT to focus on the portal and recruiting is pretty interesting. So if UA can get things together, be a around a .500 program (including conference schedule), maybe NIT and CBI and CIT
