  1. Ok...what I have been reading and that is being said by many coaches and CBB reporters after the brackets released is that big time conferences should not be scheduling good mid-major teams. Many major programs should just pay reasonable buy games and let them run-up the score on those mid-majors. If that is the case/trend UA should not be scheduling DII or DIII teams from this point forward. I would rather go get my ass beat and learn playing those teams then play these cupcakes. At least I wouldn't feel as crappy about an under .500 season. Give me an all DI schedule from this point on.

By the way, at this point the NIT is a mid-major tournament. The amount of major programs skipping the NIT to focus on the portal and recruiting is pretty interesting. So if UA can get things together, be a around a .500 program (including conference schedule), maybe NIT and CBI and CIT

  2. The 8th seed...unreal. Man this program. All I care about is that around 6 PM on Saturday there is a press release that UA and Killings has decided to part ways. Sorry if that upsets people. 34-59, likely 34-60 come Saturday evening, is beyond unacceptable. I don't care if UA is mid-major. This was maybe acceptable before the mid-2000's run. This isn't. Even when Brown went 42-56 from 2009-10 to 2011-2012 season, he at least had the team in 4th place in the AE. Hell, even before he was run off campus Brown had UA finishing better. He at least had 5 conference titles to his name. Killings has nothing. Post the stupid Mentality graphics on social media all you want...meaningless.

Congrats building a beautiful arena with a garbage product.

I like it more than the current and even previous brand.

I am in the same mindset. I like it better than the one being phased out. I do like the original AE logo and the one that followed, but it is outdated. Overall, I don't mind the change. Despite the interstate logo I think the new one brings back to the roots of the red, white and blue logo the conference has always had except for this current one.

Seems the interstate logo was actually a point...

The conference’s new tagline “Where Champions Rise” recognizes America East’s determined and relentless student-athletes, whose drive to succeed represents the work ethic synonymous with the conference’s Northeast region footprint.

The new mark includes a bold font that clearly and proudly declares the conference name, America East. The shield design indicates strength and emphasizes the conference’s tight-knit geography along the I-95 corridor. The star and Americana color scheme are an ode to the conference’s roots as well as its expansive and successful 45-year history.

Jesus, this is nuts.  Wyland did say that being a football coach in college these days is like being a GM now.

I stated earlier...Jimbo Fisher did a interview with Pardon My Take and said the same thing. This is why I think some changes are coming. This is unsustainable. However, I also think this will police itself. Guys are going to run to join the portal and then you see guys like Reese who was a starter and goes to Miami and may be 3rd QB. Sooner or later players, hopefully, will rethink quick movements or movements in general.

What is really interesting is I don't see the need for all this crazy movement, especially from FCS players. This isn't 15-20 years ago when there was zero media attention nationally. I truly believe FCS players can be very very solid NFL/NFL Draft products staying in FCS. Yes you got insane freaks of talent like Verse. I just don't get why guys from the CAA would run to conferences like the MAC, Conference USA or Sun Belt when they would get equal if not more media attention staying in the FCS.

Other than losing Poffenbarger, which obviously is a huge loss, this could be a long term net positive.  First Verse, then Juncaj and now Poff, at the very least, this will great a revolving door at Albany of talent that can use us as a place to get attention and stats and playing time.  While, I hate the loss of players after only a couple of years, I think it should create a winning program in the long run.  I mean, getting a Big 10 back-up QB is a pretty big deal.

I would also say that we gotta expect change soon w/ transfers and transfer portals. When big name coaches are saying something needs to change, the NCAA can only look away for so long. Something tells me a 1x free transfer is coming, with everything after that being some time sitting.
