Does anyone know what the tiebreaker process is for a three way tie at the top?  I know if Delaware and Richmond lose we win because of head to head with Nova. But what if it's Delaware/Nova, Richmond and UA all tied at the top? What is the process? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I found this, but it's dated from Spring 2021...https://caasports.com/documents/2020/10/30/CAA_Championship_Tiebreakers_Spring_2021.pdf

    Tie‐Breaking Format

    1. Head‐to‐head competition. If three‐or‐more teams are involved in a tie and all have played each other, the win‐loss percentage is computed using each team’s record against the tied teams as a group rather than individually.

    2. Win‐loss percentage versus the highest‐placed common opponents and proceeding down. When arriving at another set of tied teams while comparing records, use each team’s record against the tied teams as a group rather than individually.

3A. Scenario 1 ‐ Best combined ranking among Divisional teams in points scored and points allowed.

3B. Scenario 2 ‐ Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.

4A. Scenario 1 ‐ The point differential of the tied teams in all Divisional games. The point differential in individual games are capped at 21 points.

4B. Scenario 2 ‐ The point differential of the tied teams in all Conference games. The point differential in individual games are capped at 21 points.

    5. Coin flip by the Commissioner.

  2. Only thing that annoyed me was team got flustered and lead to bad shots. Columbia was playing much better and UA felt it had to rush and take really bad long range shots quick to try and re-up the lead. That lead to Columbia coming on even stronger. If they can avoid that kind of play, I liked what I saw. Thomas is a solid guard for us. Easily a 20 pt avg. scorer a night. If him or Beagle have an off night, they can be good complimentary to each other. If they are both on, like last night...victory.

  3. Had fun with my son at the game. Weather wasn't bad for the most part (got a little cold at the end). Nice UA following at the game.

Biggest thing...O-Line needs to be stronger. Poffenbarger was scrambling a lot. Luckily it was Stony Brook. Also Poffenbarger needs to be careful with some of his throws. Obviously that pick-6 was bad in the 1st quarter. But he had at least 2-3 other passes that could have been snatched (one was def. going for 6 if the defender got it). However, can't get on him going 20/28 and throwing 4 TD's. However, come playoffs, good teams will capitalize on both of these.

With Woodell, again hard to get on him while rushing for 136 yards, but I don't get why they try rushing him to the outside. Every time, besides maybe his TD, he went outside and was gaining at best 1-2 yards from my perspective. To me, let him find the seems and go, which he did really well.

Was my first UA football game in a loooooooooooooooong time. Glad to watch UA football and not be pissed. Monmouth is always a pain in the ass. Let's finish strong and at least get the banner, co-champion or full blown champion.

Correct...and likely for a LOOOONG while.

My guess on "next up" facilities, in order:

    1. Indoor Practice Facility

    2. Updates to Softball and Baseball (so long as the sport is not dropped, and I doubt it will be).

I've heard some VERY interesting things of late from some very credible sources.

wait...baseball being dropped? That is interesting. Would it be replaced with another sport? Can't drop that kinda nugget, lol

  5. I would like to see how the entrance area looks also. The Hall of Fame room is no longer the Hall of Fame room correct? I would think the entire entrance area has been re-done? I just need my Damien statue though. Every time I walked in to that arena I rubbed the statue for luck.

I thought James Madison was a member of the Sun Belt Conference for MBB and WBB, plus most other sports.  My understanding was that this season was the last year for all the west coast teams in AE Field Hockey.

you are correct w/ Madison...but they are independent in field hockey. Sun Belt doesn't do that. Madison makes perfect sense for AE. And while it is from 1994, they have a National Championship in the sport.

Queens University isn't terrible idea despite being in North Carolina (considering it's in Charlotte, very easy to get there for AE schools).

Lindewood would be more difficult, but considering it's located just outside of St. Louis, wouldn't be that horrible. I just think AE needs to try and maintain balance.

  7. Was going to put in the Conference Realignment thread in the General Discussion section, but this pretty much pertains to Field Hockey.

Both are going in 2024. This should end all affiliation w/ both schools for Field Hockey.

UC Davis is going to need to make a decision about their program, as there are no other West Coast programs. I can't imagine they are going to want to cross country travel.

If I am the AE, I would get on the phone w/ James Madison and Queens University. Both are independent programs and obviously on the East Coast. Lindewood is the only other independent program.

  8. Not sure if anyone else saw or picked it up, but former Dane Stephen Woods Jr. is on the roster for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic. He pitched 4 innings vs. Taiwan the other night and took the loss.

    Stat Line: 4 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

Seems like he isn't signed with any team for a minor league deal right now. He became a FA in November of 2022.
