  1. I had an email exchange with VC. Basic takeaways are that the AD is acutely aware of the inconsistencies and problems with both bag/prohibited items checks and concessions. They are working to resolve the issues. Both

security/bag check and concessions are not AD controlled functions. So resolution must come through meetings, etc.

am I under the impression, just by reading...that the UA athletic department has almost zero control of what goes on in this stadium? It seems so many agencies within the university and even outside have a hand in the pot. Am I reading this completely wrong?

  2. By the way, I got 5-1 odds they start deleting all the negative comments? Any takers?

I just made the comment that I really started to think about last night after stepping away from the board for a few hours...does the Admin and AD really think this low of it's own fan base that we would use seats and what not as projectiles, especially when 90% of the seating is on the same time as where the team we root for sits on?

  3. The restrictions I can live with...yes it's the way of the world...but the fact that the university is/was allowing this stuff for one game and then switch, with very little warning, is garbage. IF YOU WANTED TO IMPLEMENT THIS, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED IN JULY/AUGUST, especially since this is a major change in policy and people must adjust to the policy. EVEN WORSE, YOU TRIED TO IMPLEMENT THIS NEW POLICY WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE ABOUT THE POLICY! COMMUNICATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS AN ISSUE 10 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS AT THIS SCHOOL AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW, HAS NOT CHANGED!

However, more upsetting is that the university was selling products, knew they sold these products, and now say those products are not allowed. Even worse, you were selling them well within the time frame of when you could have announced a policy change before the season. Also, that people brought said products into the stadium GAME 1 with no incident what so ever and then come up with a lame excuse that it can be a weapon. MY HAT CAN BE A WEAPON IF I THREW IT!

  4. Can't wait to see new SEFCU policy...

honestly, if someone from the AD Dept reads this message board, I don't care...YOU ARE ACTING LIKE TOTAL MORONS ON THIS ISSUE. Notice how the loyalists of your program, those who spend hundreds of dollars on this school's athletic program are talking about you. Now think how the casual fan, which you are trying to bring in, may feel.

  5.

Check the UA sports website for the new bag policy, which also covers the chair back policy. No seat cushions of any kind. Yes, when talking to the Asst AD my BS detector was pinging, but I tried to be polite. Not sure why but I did. Was enjoying the groveling. Sort of like to do a FOIL to see the official stadium security docs for the first three years. Then we'd know. The idea that we'd throw seats is ridiculous. And if that is a safety concern why did it not matter in the years before the rental seats came out? Yeah.....its not over.

Seat cushions were also provided by the 1844 Donor club last year or the year before... so that's nice.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA...this is getting more FUBAR by the second

  6. I have no problem with the rule but give me a notice before the first game of the season. Anyone have a suggestion of where I can find one (bag).

I was with B9 at the game Sat and he had a back-up with more baby $iena in it than anything...he walked in 20 seconds after me and they went through his bag with no problem. Yet, that same bag is now illegal to bring in? My goodness. Seriously, can someone explain what event/incident took place that we are reaching these insane security levels?

  7. when did we start having security concerns at athletic events? As UA ' 08 said earlier, have we really reached this level as a fan base? Almost seems like UA Athletics and Admins think UA fans are LA Rams fans? We average 8k for a game and we are worried about the flow of people into the stadium? I walked into Casey the other night in the Fallon Field gate area and there was no line. I don't understand why all of a sudden Casey Field needs TSA level of security.

  8. I actually have it on CD...guy on the AE Board sent it to me years go. I'm not really sure how to move it to another CD. I also have the AE Championship game from the year before. I would love the Athletic Department to do a DVD Set or a Championship Season style DVD recapping etc...I can hold my breath for only so long. I actually love that CD because I was sitting directly behind the UA bench calling the game for WCDB and you can see me the entire time, haha.
