Here it is Friday the 26th and not one post about Danes football and tomorrows game. This is why hoops dominates there is more people willing to talk hoops in the off season then there is for football in season.

With that said "GO DANES BEAT SACRED HEART"!!!!!!!

Let's turn the corner and have a super season!!!!

Danes win 24-14!!!

A few thoughts:

Albany should be able to dominate at this level of football based on their size on the offensive and defensive lines. Where Albany and most of the NEC and MAAC will struggle is speed on defense - secondary and Linebackers, but within the conference no team has the talent to exploit that. Kudos to Coach Ford for bulking up the linemen - you can improve the players strength and technique but you can't teach speed (you need scholarships for that).

Sciarra and Delgado need to get to where Roeder was a year ago - nothing spectacular but he never hurt the team. Throw the ball away instead of taking a big loss on a sack, avoiding the interception. If they do those things, UA will win the NEC.

Last thought, you have to take these next two weeks (against much weaker opponents ) and work on diversifying the offense - you can't run 60 times against Stony Brook and Monmouth as they are great defenses that will put 8 men in the box. UA needs to have a couple of slants or option passes just to keep the defense honest.

Attendance:

I think UA can average over 2500 fans per game this year. Assuming the weather holds up for homecoming against Stony Brook, I think this may be a very good attendance year.

Brown - 3700

Sacred Heart - 1800

St Peters - 1500 hall of fame

Stony Brook - 5000 - homecoming

Robert Morris - 1000 - senior day
