Coach Brown to speak

Rodger Wyland said last night that Coach Brown will be the keynote speaker at the News Channel 13 all-star banquet this year. I know in the past Wyland has tried to get a speaker who had recruited one of the local all stars. Last year it was Tom Brennan, who had recruited Josh Deuel and a couple of years ago it was Steve Lappas who had recruited Rashaun Freeman. So, the question is, are we recruiting one of the all-stars (maybe one of the Schenectady kids; Robinson or Ledbetter?) or, couldn't Wyland get an out of town coach? In my mind, I had expected the Columbia coach, James Jones' brother, Joe, who has recruited CBA's Joe Bova.

There was something earlier this year about Albany recruiting Alex Zampier from Columbia. Don't know how true that is but it would be nice.

saw on the 6 o'clock news that John Cahill was the keynoter. Are we to read anything into this?
