The late signing period ends on Thursday and I'm hoping the delay for Covington has been the announcing and not the signing of a LOI.

 

Just one tidbit on Insiders. They have reranked some of their recruits. For the most part most of Albany's recruits had been labelled two stars including Connelly. They not have Covington listed as a three star recruit. I'm not sure how much faith I put in the recruit rankings but our only other three star recruit was Jamar.

 

If you want to lose faith in the rankings they have Jon Iati and Levi and one star recruits.

My hope is that UA will announce all signings at once - maybe Brown is still trying to get one last signing with Dyson's scholarship?

 

I don't know that Covington had a great senior year - his team didn't. So I don't think there is a risk of him going somewhere else.

 

In terms of ratings - Scout.com has Covington with 3 stars and Connelly at 2. Based on what we've heard during the season, that should probably be reversed.

 

Also, for what it's worth, NYNJ hoops as Connelly ranked as the number 50 top player in NY and NJ (one spot ahead of James Tchana ). They also list Connelly at 6'5".

Are O'Donnell and Edwards really gone, or just Gallagher?

 

The next few months are critical for recruiting as all the AAU teams are playing and Brown's track record shows that he gets a lot of commitments during the Spring / Summer period

Not sure on the coaches. I hope we get some good ones. They know they're taking a risk with a "lame duck" coach. I don't know what the hold up is on the announcement of the players is. Maybe we're waiting for a slow news day? I'm really looking forward to the season.
