I was looking around on the website, randomly clicking on stuff and I came across this album of old photos from the 70's and 80's of UAlbany sports. It's mostly football and basketball. I think the pictures are pretty interesting.

Son of a gun. The very first picture I looked at was ol' Bernie Boggs. The first outstanding running back in the program. He was a transfer from Temple and brought some excitement right from day one of the program. I still remember that 150 yard run (about 60 linear yards if memory serves me) in the game against Loudonville High played at Mount Pleasant in Schnectady.

That was an interesting trip back to the 60's and 70's. Unfortunately, no pictures of women's swimmming...I was on the first team that the old SUNYA had...and was the first woman to win the outstanding sportswoman award...the first time there was recognition of a woman by the athletic dept for that type of award.

 

I did recognize many of the women in the women's basketball pictures from the 68-69 to 69-70 years.

 

That was a long time ago!
