excellent...he is something special. How many players in school history have ever won this honor? Whatever the case I think Disch is having a solid career:

Disch awards:

2006 NEC Defensive Player of the Year (Jr.)

2006 AFCA Div I-AA All-America (Jr.)

2006 All-NEC First Team (Jr.)

2006 Sports Network Mid-Major All-American First Team (Jr.)

2005 Sports Network Mid-Major All-American First Team (Soph.)

2005 Football Gazette Mid-Major All-American First Team (Soph.)

2005 Football Gazette Mid-Major LB of the Year (Soph.)

2005 Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year (Soph.)

2005 All-NEC First Team (Soph.)

2005 All Northeast Region Team (Soph.)

2004 CollegeSportsReport.com Mid-Major All-American (Fr.)

2004 Football Gazette Mid-Major All-American (Fr.)

2004 All-ECAC Honorable Mention (Fr.)

2004 Defensive Rookie of the Year (Fr.)

2004 All-NEC First Team (Fr.)

Do you think he has a bigger impact on a game then Gary Jones did when he was here? How many awards did Gary Jones win with UAlbany?

Disch sure is impressive, but its hard to compare his career with Gary Jones. Two different positions on different sides of the ball. Also, what is important to remember is that Gary only played two years. He transferred from Hudson Valley Community College. In two years Gary became the all-time leading rusher (3033 on only 442 carries for an average of 6.9 yrd per carry), all-time leading scorer (42 TDs) and 5th in all-purpose yards (3639).

The better comparison would be Disch to Josh Bazan. Same position in slightly different defensive schemes. Bazan is still the all-time leading tackler with 354. Granted Disch has 346 after this year's 103 tackles. So he'll surely break that record by a lot.
