Many of the Danes' players don't like practicing on the RACC court, complaining the floor takes a toll on the legs and back. Most prefer the softer floor inside the Physical Education building adjacent to the RACC.

Chris Wyatt, a junior center, and Becky Ayers, a forward on the women's team, were each plagued with plantar fasciitis in both feet last season. Wyatt played through the pain, while Ayers red-shirted.

"It's a hard floor and I don't like it, but that's the way it is," Levine said about the RACC court.

McElroy said the university plans "to research the situation through the facilities people" after the season, concerning the 12-year-old floor and it may be replaced.

"The cost could range anywhere from $500,000 to $2 million," McElroy said. "The floor may or may not be the problem with the injuries this year. We'll have to see

How can they not choose to replace the floor? - even if it's not the floor that's causing the injuries, clearly that's the athlete's perception.

UAalum72 - thanks for posting the links. The first article covers the state of the program quite well.

You can't help but be excited about the direction of the program - I think that with the transfers, Hughes and Wilson, UA will be an upper echelon team next year. Any contributions from Dyson, Brent Wilson, Lillis and Bauman would be gravy.
