UAlbany Rugby Seeks Title Saturday

The UAlbany Men's Rugby Team takes on Colgate University for the top spot in the New York State Rugby Conference Empire East Division this Saturday, 10/20/07 at 1:00pm. Albany, 4-0-2 league record(5-1-2 overall), matches up well with Colgate, 5 -1 - 0 league (4-2-0 overall) and are looking for their second Empire East title in the past 2 years . The winner will earn a place in the League finals in which both teams advance to USA Rugby's national tournmant. Albany lost in the first round last year to UMaine 18-16.

 

With all the Varsity teams away Saturday come on out for some rugby action. Game time is 1:00pm on the Intramural Field next to the Dutch Quad basketball/tennis courts.

Alum73 were you a hooker? My father-in-law used to be a hooker (that's fun to say too). He comes to some of the basketball games with us - I'll introduce you. He can tolerate football but would much rather watch rugby.

I was a loose head prop. I played for Schenectady Reds. Where did your dad play?

He's from England and played there mostly although I think he was on a club here for a while. I'll have to find out.
