haggyland
I was sitting at the SEFCU watching the Columbia game and I was thinking about Iati becoming a coach for UA when he graduated. My reasons: 1.) Five loyal years, including some in the lean times, and others where he fought through injuries. 2.) Very respected by his teammates. 3.) Respected by the coaching staff. 4.) Possible limited professional opportunities. 5.) Relatively local guy. I vote yes, and soon. Any thoughts on this one? (And yes, that other question may be coming soon.) haggyland
Did I mention that one of the few pictures on Will Brown's website is of Will with his arm around Jon while standing on the court?
Patch
Interesting question - but you can only have so many coaches: If an experienced coach leaves Chad or Pat they will have to be replaced with an experienced guy. This is Coach Friel's 1 st year as an ass't. he'll be a number 3 guy for a couple of years (probably) Kenny D'ags is Basketball Operations and that is the only job Jon might be qualified for. If Jon wants to coach he may have to go the volunteer route or as a Grad Ass't (which UA doesn't have right now) and it's hard to feed yourself when you're a fulltime volunteer. What happens if Jon, Brent and/or Lillis want to get into coaching?

Somehow in the back of my mind I can't stop thinking that they will find a place for Iati, and in my limited mind I think it would be well deserved. I suppose he is working on a Master's right now, but how much could another hurt? As for Brent and Brian (Lillis), hello to some juco in Iowa... Dane Pound
I wonder if that's something he aspires too. I remember Brian Barnes wanted to coach since I think before he even came to UA, served as grad assistant and now has been assistant at RPI for a while. If I were Jon and I wanted to coach I'd try to get a position at High Point where you could boss your kid brother around for four years.
haggyland
Pretty mixed replies, which are good for polls as they can generate conversation and debate.
