What's In A Name

Recommended Posts

More and more in the media and at public events I here UA referred to as University OF Albany.

I know that's not the official name, but what to make of this usage?

I think we're in the wrong.

Is there any other University that uses "AT"?

EDIT: quick google search of "University at" brings up us first and Buffalo second.

The rest are "University of ________ at ________".

University of New York at Albany.

I don't like it. I've been clear about that. We are the state university of NEW YORK. Albany has as many cool points as Dayton or Scranton. Also we could build a larger fan base if we were a New York school as compared to an Albany school. This is just a step in the wrong direction.
