Looking at these rankings, I had the following thoughts:

First, I apologize in advance for what may be viewed as a "dumb question," but if we had full scholarships and a new stadium of some sort (along with the new building to go along with it for study areas and locker rooms/offices, etc., it seems like that alone would account for us vaulting into the top 20 or even top 10 on a regular basis? Is the effect of full scholarships and a new stadium not to be underestimated, or am I over-valuing their potential significance?

It seems to me that given with "what we're working with now" in terms of funding and current stadium, our program does an amazing job! Thoughts?

There is a bias towards the major FCS conferences, but that is because they continuously win big out of conference games and games against FBS teams.

Because there is little national TV converage of FCS games, most voters are voting purely on record and name recognition. We don't have either. Our OOC has helped us win NEC titles and gain the respect of the fans from teams we have played (mostly CAA teams), but continuously losing these games (even if close) is what hurts the ranking.

Had we scheduled 2 PL teams this year and won in place of two CAA teams we would likely be a top 15 team with an 8-1 record and wins over, let say Fordham, Bucknell and Hofstra, with a loss to either UNH or UMass.

So, in response to your question, scholarships and facilities have a direct effect on the rankings, because they make your team a better team.

But yes, given what Ford has to work with, the results are amazing. There are plenty of programs who have many more resources then Albany and they aren't nearly as successful.

Amazing how Delaware is 25. They have spiraled out of control after our game. That loss will haunt Fordie for a few years.
