Breaking news from Newsday:

 

Stony Brook University police charged a student who is expected to start at center for the school's basketball team with driving while intoxicated this morning.

 

Desmond Adedji, a 6-foot-9, 305-pound transfer student from the University of Dayton, was pulled over on the campus's South Drive at 6:15 a.m. this morning, a campus police spokesman said.

 

Adedji was scheduled to appear in court today, the spokesman said. Details of his arrest and arraignment were not immediately available, the spokesman said.

 

The spokesman said Adedji's home is in Maryland, but it was unclear if he has a campus address. Adedji's age was also not immediately available.

 

 

 

Curious to see if this has any impact on his status with the team....It would certainly be a blow to them if he misses any time...
