TU Article

Today's TU article should clear up Brown's contract sitaution. He is in the second year of a four year deal. His goals for next year are pretty clear as well.

"I expect to be over .500," Brown said. "I expect to have the first winning season at the Division I level in school history. I'd be disappointed if we didn't." -Will Brown in today's TU.

I don't have the answer for that one:) These fourth-year option deals can be confusing. I don't think UAlbany does those kind of deals at this point in time.

To be honest, I believe it is a straight four-year deal. The reason I say that is because Brown wanted a full four years so that he had a chance to see the entire development of his initial recruiting class from when he was hired as a permanent replacement.

Maybe the professor could also chime in with his thoughts on the deal????

I was just wondering because signing Brown was a risk by McElroy and if Brown fell on his face I'm sure Mc would want to be able to clean up fast for the good of his own job.

Remember Brown had no bargaining leverage when he was hired. He couldn't negotiate salary or length of his contract.

McElroy had all the leverage.

What Brown got was a fantastic opportunity at a young age.
