For anyone curious about the Americans With Disabilities Act, here's a simplified summary (of which I did not check for accuracy; take it with a "grain of salt") of the ADA:

Of course, that just covers the federal claims made in this lawsuit, which includes state claims as well.

 

Though not discussed by the Times Union article, I assume the plaintiff-employee complied with any and all requisite procedures regarding the NYS DOHR and U.S. EEOC ... . Discrimination lawsuits can (and do) fall victim to relatively unforgiving procedural rules and administrative-exhaustion requirements.
