While not directly related to us, the trickle down of conference realignment is happening. UC Davis and Cal Poly have just announced that they are leaving the Great West Football Conference for the Big Sky. The Commissioner said in the new conference that he would like to add another team soon to get to two 6 team divisions (maybe another Great West team like Southern Utah or maybe a team like Idaho drops down from FBS).

Both schools were on the bubble for WAC invites but according to the Big Sky commissioner, they chose to go to the Big Sky as opposed to pursuing the WAC.

The commish also explained the desire to have a 12 team conference.

Makes me wonder if the CAA will look to replace URI if they leave for the NEC? or what they will do if Georgia State goes to the FBS sooner then expected (they did get 31,000 people at their opening game last weekend).
