First off, the Globe cant stand FCS sports. Second, the writer didnt even research this properly. BU's decision is looked at in horror by most who knew/know of the situation.

And most importantly, the top reason for NU to drop the program was the historical battle between our mayor in Boston, Bob Kraft, and NU. The Mayor held NU hostage and basically only gave them rights to expand dorms. The school had to make a tactical decision later on when Kraft was jilted by our Mayor...who is a complete baffoon.

The reality is, even with our $ienaty stadium...it is still on campus...something NU never had.

If they got their campus stadium as many predicted...then the football team likely would be around.

And I have had inside knowledge on the NU situation for about two years BEFORE they dropped football based on my friendship with a poster that is very in the know; I can tell you that while he will tell you the change benefits the other programs at NU (and he is happy that hoops is going to get a kick start in funding) he full well would tell you that NU is still spending nearly the same cash for other athletic programs.

The article tells half the story...at best. It's poorly devised.
