Albany women, picked fifth preseason, follow up Monday's road win over #3 defending champ Hartford with a 53-41 win over #1 defending regular season champ UMBC. They led by as many as 18 about six minutes into the second half, and the Retrievers never got closer than eight.

Great to see the exposure for Craig and the women's program. I will hopefully be a story line in the NCAA tourney this year.

 

I think this is the third story or so on Craig this year, which is great, but I think Julie Forster's story is about as interesting. I'm pretty sure she started her career as a walk-on, the same way as Rainny Lesane.

Women have broken into the top 100 RPI (99), pretty good with SOS of 159.

 

Only Hartford (94 with SOS 57) is higher-ranked in AE.
