Stony Brook University is still deciding the fate of its basketball coaches. No one will say if men's coach Nick Macarchuk, with two years on his contract or women's coach Trish Roberts, with three years left, is safe. A decision is expected by May 1 . . . Should be interesting to see if Macarachuk get's an extension or is hung out to dry.

I think SBU has to ride out this situation. You have to wait atleast another year on Roberts. She did lead them to the AE finals a couple of years ago, but several of those players haven't met their potential in recent years.

Probably an understatement to say most of us don't like Macarchuk. This doesn't seem like a terrific way to fire, or not fire, someone. I don't know if SB has any scholarships open for next year but this would have to play havoc with recruiting if they do.
