Lionel Chalmers Drafted

Not exactly Danes related but congrats to Albany's Lionel Chalmers for being drafted by the Clippers in the second round. TU Story.

Also, Manhattan's Luis Flores was drafted by the Rockets.

To make it Danes related, you could remind everyone that in the 1999 Section 2 Class AA championship game, Lucious Jordan's Colonie Central team beat Lionel Chalmer's Albany High team. This was when Lionel had just come back from his broken hand and tried to beat Colonie by himself. As we have mentioned before, Colonie is coached by former Dane, Doug Kilmer.

 

Lionel has worked very hard for his success; graduated on time; worked toward a Masters Degree and will be prepared for life, even when his basketball career ends.

Just a note on the NBA draft. Zoellner has better post moves and is more ready to play in the NBA then those so called "Big Men" that were drafted out of High School.
