McDonald All-American coming to UA

Just saw on laxpower that Craig McDonald, a high school all-american is coming to UA next year. He's the second all-american in the class compared to last year's class which had one.

Even better is that he's a defenseman. The one area we looked mismatched to some degree last year against the big boys was on defense. It's great to see the staff respond with a terrific recruit in that area.

In addition to being an all-american, McDonald was selected to play in the National Senior Showcase in St. Louis which highlights the top 96 seniors in the country. McDonald skipped his high school graduation ceremony to be there.

Thanks for keeping us informed on all possible developments in UAlbany athletics. You and others like Dane96 and Patch help us get through the summer doldrums when there is little activity on the court or field. Thanks for doing a great job.

I think one of the strengths of the board is the range of posters here. There are people who attend UA now and give updates about what's going on around campus and with the players. We also have long-time fans who provide an institutional memory for the program.

As our membership grows next year I'd like to try and get more access to the UA coaching staff. Until then hopefully they'll be plenty of all-americans to report in the future.
