Good stuff there Dane. I completely agree this is the rationale. I think basically they don't want to feel like they spent all this money previously and then fall back again to a lower level. So they need to spend more to justify the initial investment.

Our board, all the anger and frustration we were expressing.
-
Jammaster just texted me, and I think he's right about this, what are the chances Brown used BPF as bulletin board material?
-
While I'm not ready to get back on the "everything's fine" bandwagon. This is an impressive show of heart, especially after a really flat first 6 minutes.
-
So, the burning question is: how real is all of this? Is this something they are truly pursuing or was this a slow day at TU. Anyone have any inside info?
-
Wow...that UB guy is a dick, like former head of nano, level dick.
-
Oh boy. More Juco

I would imagine clearing the land, putting in the proper plumbing, electrical, etc, is a huge chunk of that budget.
i.e. when you watch any construction project, it looks like an empty lot for the first bunch of months and then suddenly the thing reaches skyward at a fast past.

so where does our fancy and expensive scoreboard go?
I kinda love the idea of keeping the berm intact.

Makes sense. He had committed way back in August so likely a casualty of the new staff and maybe the Madaras brothers starting over him

Is there talk of a new FBS northeast league?
-
Scratch that. Mean to say McElroy but the sane could be said of Jones. Also very odd time of year for this story, no?
-
As someone who has worked closely with PR and marketing folks, it'd be very strange for Jones to comment on this and then not push it through.
Him talking about the critical nature if sports and how this stadium expansion is a big goal would make him look very weak and ineffectual if this weren't a very real and likely event.
I would t be surprised if this were a done deal but holding back anything official for now
-
Wow. Impressed by his leadership already.
-
Not to make this personal but where are the folks who called the attitude expressed over the last 12 hours tiresome and embarrassing after the UML game?
Some people work during the day and can't post on BPF..
Don't worry. I work. My own business putting the value of my degree to work for me

So. The 250-300k a year question. What can be done to remedy the situation. I was told that barring a scandal we may be stick with Brown til 2017...

One positive at UNH--Dallas and Michael Rowley are progressing--good stats.
Why were they on the bench then when UNH was coming back?
-
That's great. He's reacting, but this happens EVERY season and EVERY year. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results..
Why would things change now? We have 2-3 of these type of losses every season and as well-stated here, since Jamar we are 5 games under 500 in league play. In a very very mediocre (putting it kindly) league.
So what is (presumeably one more) one tongue-lashing going to do for the future of this program?

Think of the publicity!
-
My only hope is that the growth of football and the genuine optimism there shines the cruel light of day on what this program could have become but hasn't

Dane96. That's my issue. These losses happen year in and year out. What could he say now that he hasn't said or tried in the last 6 or 7 years?
That tourney spot last year may have set us further back than moved us ahead.
That being said. Ennema gives me some hope if the coaching staff can use him properly. Which they did not tonight.
-
That's the problem. You want to build local excitement, stop coaching for just the tourney. The casual fan doesn't get engaged by coming across a box score like this.
-
Sorry click but the tree fell in the woods and it made another giant sucking sound.
Another blown lead. How many thus year? Pretty much every game but two or three.

Well, that's that. Sounds like its more along the lines of a 5-year type plan if anything.
