Yes, it's up to around 60, don't think it was ever much above 40, usually much less

Agree tackling didn't look sharp, but they only scored twice, so it couldn't be too bad. Seven more sacks, this Defense is looking more impressive all the time.

No turnovers vs. five for 'Nova (three in the 4th quarter) made the biggest difference.

    ent/individual/36

    Absolutely

WTF!  Fire Gattuso for that play call.  One min to go, MSU with 2 TOs, at worse 4th down with 15-20 sec to go and we are in the shotgun????  Should be Poff under center and a keeper or even a knee would have been safer.

Gattuso does NOT call the plays............................,  Poof only had to let the clock run down a kneel to win in regulation - no reason whatever to hand the ball off.

Honestly, I have zero complaints about the defensive game plan in this game.

Not the game plan overall, BUT we have been getting beat on short pass plays because of the secondary coverage for several years.  They have the corners and safeties  line up too far from the LOS in cover 2 or 3 [when the WRs are stacked or there are trips wide out].  In my mind Instead of 8-10 yards off the ball - they should bring them in to 5-6 or 7 or so - our kids are athletes too and so be fine staying in the zone from there.  Might open thew middle zones more but this has hurt us for a long time. Makes a huge difference in the success of our opponents.   They have allowed 7-10 yard square outs for all of that time.  When you have good atheletes and they are allowed to catch those passes they some times get yards after the catch.  Those plays were successfull both games so far [and for years] - didn't hurt us against Fordham but did in this game and will going forward.  Just my opinion.

I know the chances of a win are extremely small, but I'd love to see it kept close and a game. Local rag covering Marshall calling it a glorified scrimmage for their team is good locker room fodder....

I hope the players enter the game with with the same attitude.......................................

I was wondering if they changed the way they were calling PI. I suppose some of them might've been holding if the ball wasn't in the air yet.

Any comments on the Flo broadcast? Fordham fans complaining about poor production, homer announcers, etc.

And can we get a stadium announcer who doesn't say it's a UALBANY THIRD DOWN when the other has the ball? At least the third year he's been doing this.

Kinda like that - it's a motivational thing I'd guess.  Gets the crowd noise going.

    Here's what I noticed:

    1) With the exception of some snaps and false starts (assume jitters?) the team actually looked really well coached.

    2) The secondary helped the D-Line dominate.  9 sacks ain't no joke and while I know little about Fordham, I know this has traditionally been a very pass happy team which means they build from the O-line out.

    3) This isn't Juwan and everyone else.  There are 3-4 good receivers on this team.

    4) Poff is legit.  For a guy with his mobility, he actually rarely throws the ball poorly or up for grabs post-scramble  His arm looks significantly stronger than last year and his accuracy so the WR could YAC was really impresssive.  The one bad throw I saw, that the LB dropped for a pick-6 looked like the TE slowed his route and Poff was still trying to lead him.

    5) No clue if Fordham is good this year but they were picked to finish 2nd in the Patriot and made the playofs last year scoring no less than 40 points a game.

    Mahalo,

    D

The QB's throw into a 3' X 3" 'net' that is on a stand about 6' high - from 15 yrds out to 50 or so yards.   It is pretty amazing how accurate most of them are after doing that for the entire pre-season.

  7. Started slow.  Never saw ANY of the procedure penalties during practice.  I think lots of pressure to do well maybe.   Don't personally like the secondary coverages but they came through when needed.   Finally changed the kickoff kicker and put in Hogan [Glens Falls] transfered from Utah. Kid can kick. Kicking game looked good.

OLine has to block better for the run - looked better after 1st 1/4

Much improved.  The next two weeks wil help show if we can play up.......

8 or 9 sacks, Simon and Jucaj each had three. I think Kelly had 2 or 3 as well

    399 yds offense

    Poff had 253 passing anf 4 TD's

  8. Camp has been great!  I have been to several practices.  My opinion is that the team is greatly imrpoved - not trying to be over optomistic but still.......  At least 4 RB will get playing time. Griff [local kid] has impressed everyone and they gave him a full scholarship the other night!  O Line is better - WR are better. Defensive backfield is greaty improved.   Players come over and talk too.  Pretty cool for me.
