Any idea re-coupe time? Do you know if it is season ending?
Any comments how the youngsters did/competed in periods 4 & 5??
No idea. He walked by us and someone asked and that is what he told us. Depends on the type of break. Tough injury for a lacrosse player I'd think.

Syracuse is supposed to better according to Inside Lacrosse due to incoming Freshman, transfer portal and retention of players from last year.
Hummm. Thought VT would be off this year becasue of the number of Srs and loosing their top sacorer to Virginia. Maybe those Srs stayed as grad students!! Anybody - any ideas.

Yes. Sorry, got them mixed up with Will Pepe; who by the way was taken to the hospital yesterday after a first qtr injury. Hope he is ok. Looked like arm or shoulder? Already lost Hay & Fingar to season endings.
Told us he broke his collarbone

Saw the first three qtr's of scrimmage last night; left early it did not start to almost 9. Unofficially after 3 had UA 10-lcc 6; with 2 or 3 of lcc goals on fast breaks after long UA rebounds off posts or missed ground balls. Overall I thought the the UA defense was very sound. A lot of guys used on attack and midfield, kind of made for some inconsistent play IMHO. Also, when UA attack on far end of field, hard to read #s and identify who's/who's [and they attacked in that direction 2 of the 3 I saw.]
So for what it's worth Graydon was outstanding and seemed to take charge of the offense and directed people where to be/pass; he also scored 2 or 3 times himself. #16 Salit who I mentioned above started I believe and played very well. Did not see Sheehan (Denver transfer) unless he changed his # from 1 to 0. 0 played a lot and maybe it was Sheehan? Did not see Carino at all. Seemed a lot of freshman got a lot of time; #28 Lee played very well and sophomore #18 LaPietro local kid from Shaker [younger brother of #12] also looked good. #24 Pucci had at least one goal from long range; but seemed to take some wild long shots--pretty much was his mo from last year.
Goalie played very well IMHO, lcc though small was very quick and VanValkenburg made many nice stops and when lcc scored pretty much on un-stoppable shoots, I thought. Karnes started at F/O with minimal success and Regan took over and pretty much dominated.
Anyone stay for the whole game, would love to hear your thoughts/opinions; and feel free to correct any in-accurates on part.
#0 was Carino at the scrimmage. # 1 was not dressed - there were 6 players not dressed - mostly starters. a LOT of freshman and a couple of sophomores played a LOT. Looked great during the first three Q's. I left after the 5th when it was ALL freshman with a couple of sophomores and one Sr who has never been in a game.

Is VT worse than last year and is Syracuse the same. Or are they both better??? I think VT lost a lot of players including their #1 attack. I guess we'll find out.

I wish him well but I don’t understand the move. He’s a 5’11 middle linebacker - he might get a shot at a higher level but it doesn’t seem likely. Even if he does go to a higher level, will he get much playing time? Dan Damico was an all CAA middle linebacker before he transferred to Villanova and I don’t think he played much this year. The year before, Levi Metheny transferred to Murray State and didn’t do much.
Also interesting that he’d transfer now - 2 weeks into the spring semester. You’d think he’d transfer so he could be at a new school now instead of waiting to the summer.
We need more size up the middle and the transfer LB is bigger so maybe he’ll move to the middle - I think he was a weak side LB at Juco.
The transfer LB was a Will/Mike LB just like Misler - we use to call them a Rover back; AND was a JUCO All-American. I've watched him on Video- he is good. I do not understand the Ambush move eitehr. He gained weight and was not as quick as he had been, just like Damico. Maybe he saw the couple of LB' coming in were good. No idea. Also he is graduating. This was discussed in the past. After Covid and the extra year of eligibility some kids think they need a change. MOST have gone down a level. I guess we'll all see if it was a good move or not. Maybe he has talked to other schools....

UA getting votes in pre-season coaches poll:
Receiving Votes:
Army, Johns Hopkins, Loyola, Navy, Villanova, Lehigh, Syracuse, High Point, Utah, Vermont, UAlbany, UMass, Michigan, Air Force.
In media poll only VT from AmEast got votes. Also, not sure why they were top choice of AmEast coaches; lost their top offensive player to Virginia; their goalie; and quite a few seniors on last years roster. Still have the top face-off in the AmEast. Probably top choice history only? They listed 11 seniors on last years roster [maybe some have an extra year?] On paper UA's incoming class looks stronger. UA & UMBC were both considerably younger than VT last year; and IMHO they both will topple VT this year.
Too early obviously but THOUGHTS/OPINIONS??
Agree - watching the first scrimmage against the native team we looked good. I'll try to go tomorrow night as well. They had warm-ups at 8 PM last time and started at 8:30

Joey Carino is now on the roster, #36
He wore # 0 in the scrimmage again

Jackson Ambush is graduating and entered the transfer portal today!!!!

Blessed to receive a D1 Scholarship offer to play at UAlbany! Big thanks to the coaching staff for a great official visit weekend! Especially honored because it’s where my Dad played -
Looks like 19 signed over-all so far, several D and O lineman and a couple of stud LB's, couple of DB's and WR's and QB's. I expect there may be a couple more along the way.
8 Transfers [what happened to the other running back who committed?]

Everytime U Albany makes an offer to a kid, other teams in the league jump and make an offer to the same kid. The games they play!!!!!! I assume we do the same thing. Haven't seen it as much though.

What was with all the guys who did not dress?? Anybody know. Thought we played well. Freshman and Sophomores played A LOT. Starters played but I thought the young guys played more. I thought we did well over-all though.
