  1. This is super helpful--thanks for the clarity. I work in higher ed communications, so it still puzzles me why this wasn't rolled out by the university as a huge announcement. This is what a comms department for a school like UA dreams about, and this tweet doesn't reflect that. Let's hope they do more if the Hub happens.
  2. Here's a statement that was put out today by Rodriguez. And this is the tweet, which was finally shared on their main X account. He says, "As the nation’s first college dedicated to nanoscience and semiconductors, the University at Albany’s College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering stands ready to work with our long-standing partners at NY CREATES..." Seems the money went to specifically NY Creates...so how exactly the university will be involved seems TBD.
  3. thank you--couldn't read because the paywall but I see this article mentions us in the lede. So why not a peep from the University?
  4. I also don't see UA mentioned in any of the external press.
  5. Unless I'm missing something, this is truly next level for UA. But...why not a dot of a mention on their news page or their social media??
  6. The correct answer is, "As AD, it's my responsibility to figure out the issue and make sure it's corrected for next time."
  7. Is the perimeter purple wall above the seating a digital screen?
  8. this is good news; hopefully more is to come. https://www.timesunion.com/business/article/schumer-announces-new-york-consortium-wins-40-18377712.php
  9. True, although we too benefit greatly from the fact that a large portion of our alumni wind up working in the NYC area. It is a bit stunning that we rose 51 spots this year and still wind up miles and miles behind the other SUNY flagships.
  10. US News changed their criteria for the 2024 rankings, concentrating more on ROI—graduation rates and post-graduation earnings. Granted the new methodology is using some older data, mostly supplied now by government sources rather than the schools, so there will likely continue to be some resettling in the coming years. But here are the latest national ranks: • Stony Brook: #58 • Binghamton: #73 • Buffalo: #76 • Albany: #133
  11. The dog looks like it's going to the bathroom.
