  1. I'd say it's a few things (and the first three deserve a "thanks Captain Obvious" response):

    1. The teams performance in recent years does not get a fan base excited.

    2. The coaches issues (and I'll leave it at that).

    3. Playing at HVCC last year, although that should be offset by the buzz of a new arena.

    4. Last, but in my mind certainly not least, is the transfer portal.  I see it having it's effect on teams at this level.  There's almost no watching a kid grow.  No way of knowing what to expect from year to year.  Little connection to the players as they are rarely here for more than a few years.  I think winning overcomes some of this but for me it's tough to stay as connected when it's a different set of players every year.

My prediction/expectation - who knows.  I'm hopeful better than last year and a healthy Neely alone should do that.  Other than that I've got nothing.

100 per seat, with a 275 GDAC donation.  It has the larger, cushioned premium seats and is the "Club" section with food and drink.  For 31 per game, all in cost with donation, it's not bad.

Thanks.  Figured it was something like that.  Overall prices aren’t bad.  It’ll be interesting to see how those “club” seats sell.  I’m more of a good view type purchaser and those aren’t great viewing seats.  Purple seems the play for our group.

Had the Broadview Center tour today.  It is pretty impressive.  Have no clue to ticket prices but if you want Division 1 sports at UA, keep quiet and open your check book as I have for over 50 years.

Broadview Center will be great, and I enjoy my yellow seats at Casey!!

Good for you but I'm not sure what I saw last year was D1 sports.  I would be more inclined to say if UA wants successful D1 sports (and attendance) they might want to change their approach because it isn't working.

  4. I've been a season ticket holder for 20+ years.  I'll probably purchase again this year but am asking the question why?  I can get tickets to any game that I want in good seats w/o paying the PSD.  Just walk up an buy tickets the day of the game.  So i don't get the same seat every time?  Ok, not optimal.  PSD's are for places that have limited availability (in my view).  Sold out stadiums get away w/ this, not places that are at best 50% full.

  5. I'm sure it's all across college sports but the PSD's make no sense to me for schools that have a limited/shrinking fan base.  In the real world you generally raise prices as supply and demand dictates (Covid inflation aside).   While they've reduced supply (marginally) I'm not sure the demand is there for them to be able to raise prices.  I'd love for them to try to lower prices now, improve the product on the floor, increase the fan base and then raise prices as demand increases.  Silly me.

While everyone is welcome to their opinion, I still do not see why so many automatically think DK us guilty.

Is it so hard to believe that Fiz is a spoiled brat that made the whole story up.

consider:  one court has dismissed already; another has rejected at least ½ of Fiz's case; NOT a single shred of evidence or confirmation by a single player or witness has ever been put forward. And please do not tell me DK admitted to anything other than accidental incidental contact.

I can only speak for one and I'm not saying that he's guilty in a court of law.  But how I get there is easy.  Something happened.  One side is offering a very detailed and specific story.  The other side tried to hide it.  One side refuses to talk about it.  The other side is very willing to discuss.  The dismissal was a deal and not just a dismissal.  Again something happened, maybe not enough evidence to prove it doesn't mean it didn't happen.  Every assistant coach exiting the building means something to me.  I can tell you if I've done nothing wrong I'm singing from the rooftop that I've done nothing wrong. I'd tell you exactly what happened.  I'd call the kid a liar.  I wouldn't take a deal.  I wouldn't allow myself to be fined and suspended (even if it was a joke of a fine and suspension).  That's why I feel that Luke at least has a leg to stand on here.  Does he have enough in a court of law?  Who knows.   Was the school pressured by outside forces to reverse it's decision to fire him?  I don't know but it certainly isn't beyond the scope of reality.  Was this decision at least partly because of race?   I don't know but it certainly isn't beyond the scope of reality.  Activist groups are very powerful.

Again not sure what is provable enough for a legal and/or a civil case but the actions (after the fact) by the school and the coach leave me with enough smoke to think that there may have been a fire.

And as far as the practice facilities as an excuse for last year?  See UVM for my rebuttal.

Take a deep breath.  My point is that calling a white kid a protected class is a novel approach.  I'm actually surprised some of the screeching weasels on Fox News or any of the other replacement theory anti-woke catastrophists haven't jumped on this story.  I have a feeling that if this isn't settled, or dismissed we're gonna hear more about this, potentially in the national news for that element.

I do agree that his results have been horrible, but in his defense, last year had everything stacked against them, especially their practice and facility issues.  For that alone, I think he's gets another year.

As far as the above-mentioned lawsuit, etc, I'll wait til a jury of their peers decides before passing judgement.  Isn't that how our legal system is supposed to work?

    Sorry.  You’re previous comment doesn’t jive w “I’ll wait til a jury….”.

Nobody will change anybody’s mind but I’ll safely assume if the races were reversed we wouldn’t be talking about this.  The coach would be gone and there’d be a bunch of additional training for everyone else.

Sounds like he's been watching too much Fox News.

Yup.  Watching Fox News is why a Coach assaulted him (plea deal).  And Fox News is clearly why this coach still has a job.  And Fox News helped the school try to hide the entire incident.   My long way of asking WTH does Fox News have to do with any of this?

Maybe someone should point blank ask the coach “what happened”?  And see if he continues to dodge the question.  “Was it in a hype circle or was that a lie”?  “Coach at what age is it okay for a coach to assault one of your kids in the manner that you assaulted a player”?  Rodgers got some time now that the AB situation has played out.

Why anyone supports this coach is beyond me.  This issue combined w what can only be described as terrible results.

  9. While I know nothing about this project specifically I know that construction projects are very challenging right now.  Labor and supply issues are real.  Add to that a project overseen by the State of NY and I’ll throw my hat in w the doubters.  Hopefully it remains at or near on schedule but time will tell.  If it isn’t I guess I’ll deal w some wings at Juniors in Troy again.

  10. Still the best team that UA has will be hosting the AE Championships and trying to hold onto the outdoor titles.  The weather looks good w/ most of the finals being run on Sunday.  Come out and show some support for the team and Coach Vives.

  11. And I'll jump in w/ beating the dead horse - The indoor track facility (if you can call it that) is an absolute joke.  A square track for a D1 team that dominates the conference.  For those not familiar w/ track it should be run on an oval.  That means two straights and two corners, not 4 of each.  Think of a basketball court that isn't a rectangle!!  Who does this?  My son runs D3 and I can tell you he doesn't run on any square tracks.  Understanding not every school has an indoor facility but this is a large D1 University.

I admittedly don't know the economics of it but some of the cost could be offset by hosting HS meets.  These meets are currently held at Union (also square and from the 1950's I think) and HVCC (oval but short and a surface that is almost unsafe it's so slippery).  I decent, not great, facility would be filled every Saturday and Sunday from early December through the end of March.  Other times you could host events, intramurals, and club events on the infield.  All with enough fees to more than offset the lights being turned on.

  12. Despite neither team winning the AE this year (both finished 2nd, the women by .5 its) both teams are highly ranked in the Northeast Region.  The women are currently 4th and the men 11th.

  13. I see him at 29% from 3 with a whole 5 made on the season (553 minutes played).  47% from the field but I’m guessing his shot chart would show a lot if his made baskets were layups (could be wrong).  I know if I’m the opposing coach I’m not worried about him shooting from outside of 5 feet.  Maybe he puts in the work and gets better.  Root for him based on his effort but so far not seeing it.  He also played a lot of PG and had a 1:1 assist to turnover ratio.

I plead guilty, have been extolling Jackson's potential all year.  But your statement above, unfortunately seems closer to reality.🤔  Hopefully, chalk it off as a learning/growing year for him????

Right.  And I don't want to be too harsh on him but to me he seemed to play to his recruit level as a "preferred walk on".  Energy and effort for sure.

In his post game with Wyland, DK for what its' worth did heap praise on the 3 freshman coming in. But quickly added UA needs to quickly get "OLDER."  [aka: the Portal I assume.]  Personally, I have never been a fan of the portal; but I guess it is the reality today. IMHO, DK's Portal recruits to date have been his biggest short coming/failure! I think you have to give him some props with his freshman recruiting, but has been unable to support them with quality "older"/experienced/skilled players off the portal.😝

Same.  Not a fan of the portal but it is what it is and we better have some success in it this year.  On the positive side I do believe freshman can come in and be very effective so if the 3 are good that'll help.  Beagle was obviously the best player as a freshman.  Neely last year.  Fingers crossed that 2 out of 3 of the incoming guys pan out (and somewhat quickly).

  16. So we need a PG, a shooting guard, a wing, and maybe another big?  Sorry I’m struggling to see much next year unless the incoming guys are really good.

Other than Beagle and Neely I’m not seeing anyone that is really D1 skill level.  Drumgoole too I guess but he was so inconsistent.

Guys that couldn’t play their way into minutes on this team clearly don’t have D1 skills.  Ketnar?  Kellog?

Hutchinson and Jackson are effort guys but that only goes so far.  I hear that Jackson plays good D but I’m not so sure.  Between the fouls and getting just blown by, I’m not seeing it.  Foot speed doesn’t seem to be there.  And his inability to shoot a basketball is tough to watch.

I also don’t see players that fit the uptempo we were promised.  Edmead?  Maybe.  Beagle?  Yes for a big.  Anybody else?

Here’s to the greatest portal recruiting ever.
