Verizon has got me at $192 right now (that's with land-line). Getting rid of land-line, cutting cable and keeping internet, with DirectTV Now plan I wanted cuts my bill by $40-$50 a month. It's happening come October.
I will say...I have this feeling that ESPN is going to very slowly start and phase out ESPNU and ESPNews. ESPNews is useless at this point. I can see them switching all ESPNU content over to ESPN+.
Per Deadspin article I read:
I feel like I am making a big deal of this, but to me this could change dynamic of access to sporting events for UA and AE. The thing with all of this is it's only a cost of $5.
Here is an even clearer article...it seems almost everything for Ivy League will be on ESPN+
http://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/23030560/ivy-league-espn-announce-10-year-deal-network-air-sporting-events-espn+
so I just sent a tweet to the AE to find out about this. The new service starts April 12th. From what I have read it seems some events maybe moved specifically to ESPN+ and will not be on the ESPN3/WatchESPN sites. I just saw the Ivy League signed a deal with ESPN to broadcast games and in article it mentioned the America East signed on with ESPN+. Article also stated that Ivy League will have some games on ESPN3 and some on ESPN+. I'm also wondering if ESPN+ will replace AETV.
We maybe going to subscription to watch UA football, basketball and others sports on ESPN.
