  1. the bracketology was done prior to the VCU game...he is doing it based on locations...Albany would have to play Villanova because they are in the Philly bracket. They like ot have teams play in closest location to their campus. That being, the only other Philly bracket is the UConn bracket, and he is saying that is a play in game. We are not that bad to be in the play-in game. Thus, the 16 spot vs Villanova is the best spot for us.

They are going to keep us in the Philly bracket so long as Villanova is up there. To me, it is safe to say, if Albany makes this tournament, then I would bet all my money that 95% we play the Wildcats.

that seeding however is based on georgraphic location.

one thing at a time. I want to see them win the conference regular season title, so first at least, we are guaranteed a postseason tournament, based on the new NIT rules.

  2. From ESPN.com Preview of Bracketbuster Weekend:

    Albany at Virginia Commonwealth

    Friday, 7 p.m. ET (ESPNU)

If you're lucky enough to be one of the 37 (and counting!) U.S. households that receive ESPNU, you can start your Bustin' early. From out of the America East Conference (the league that brought you the freewheeling Vermont Catamounts), we have another great story. The Albany Great Danes (16-8, 11-2 AE) are in only their seventh year as a Division I member after making the jump from D-III, and they're within four of equaling the number of wins they earned in their first three AE seasons combined. Led by Wilson "twins" Jamar (17.6 ppg) and Brent (10.0 ppg), the "Scoobies" recently set a team record for D-I single-season wins (14). The 14th win came against Boston University in their winter homecoming game -- an event known around the Empire State capital as the "Big Purple Growl."

Albany will take on VCU (16-8, 10-6 CAA), whose only growling lately has come from the program's collective tummy. They're starving for wins. British import Nick George, a 6-6 senior (16.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg), and the Rams have lost three of four and have slipped off the pace in the Colonial race. If VCU's talented backcourt can generate some of the team's CAA-high 8.5 steals a game, they'll be able to deny their feisty visitors their Scooby snacks and keep some for themselves. Zoinks!

  3. We got the men, but lets look at the women coming to UA...

Top 8 in every single one of those categories

Her team is on a 42 game winning streak in Class A.
