UMBC players banned from locker room for poor playAssociated Press

CATONSVILLE, Md. -- Maryland-Baltimore County's men's basketball team has been indefinitely banished from its locker room, punishment by coach Randy Monroe for a subpar effort in a 75-58 home loss to New Hampshire on Wednesday.

UMBC spokesman Steve Levy confirmed Sunday that Monroe has not permitted the Retrievers to use their usual locker room since Thursday.

Instead, team members are dressing in the courtside media workroom, which was also to be used as a meeting room during halftime of Sunday's home game against Hartford. Additionally, players have been forbidden to wear apparel bearing the school's name.

The Retrievers (6-9) had been 5-1 at the RAC Arena before losing to New Hampshire (5-11), a team that had been averaging 56.6 points per game. Monroe, usually an animated presence on the sideline, spent most of the game sitting dejectedly in a folding chair.

  2. just as a little joke...

When i went to go look at Binghamton 5 years ago for college, myself and my parents got lost in a corn field. I told them not to bother to stop, to rural for me. hahaha.

But yea, think about the stuff, hell, since i have been here for 4 years, what has gone up. New weather building, new nano-science building, wireless communication, the science library (built prior to me coming of course)...look what is being set to be built now: new business department building, new administration building, more nano-science buildings...

frankly, i dont think Stony Brook, Binghamton or Geneseo can match that at all COMBINED

I think UAlbany is lucky with the fact that we are located in Albany of course. State government rather have a research university in its own backyard to keep a better eye on etc...(catch my idea?)

Frankly, its clear why UAlbany cost a little more. The thing is, i think that 46th ranking is a solid one cause frankly, YOU GET MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK, in comparison to the other SUNY's.

  3. this maybe my opinion, but i believe albany is a little more because of the research ability that this school has in comparison to binghamton, geneseo and stony brook. Stony Brook i know has some good research institutions...

i feel though as a research instititution, we are far ahead of those other SUNY schools.

    just my opinion

  4. He threw a elbow at Brent Wilson and slammed Wilson in the face. Wilson got a Technical when Bofia was on top of Lillis is the 2nd half on a jump ball. Wilson threw him off thinking he was getting to physical. They had it in for each other the rest of the way. Bofia slamed him, got alot of boo's and got kicked out...i expect the Maine AD or the AE to do something about it...i can see him being suspended for 1 game...

thats what i saw as i was broadcasting

  5. I would go big. Get another center. Covington can play Foward or Center, and Gifford. Frankly, after seeing this team play Florida and UCLA, i want big men. May not be alot left, but even at the Foward spot, i think we should go big. I feel like the team has alot of speed and the outside game, i think we need to have the ultimate inside game.

Scout says we are interested in this one kid from Quebec, Ali Kanaan, 6-9, 230 lbs. Im not saying him exactly, but something around that size.

    Just my opinion.
