Just looking at the composite scoreboard and Field Hockey beat Providence yesterday. That makes UA 3-1 against Big East teams last week. Men's soccer over Syracuse, Volleyball over Boston College and FH over Providence. Only loss was women's soccer against Syracuse.

Volleyball has a shot at another win when they play Syracuse this week.

Syracuse, N.Y. – Ashley Hunter belted 24 kills to lead UAlbany to a 3-2 victory over Big East Conference rival Syracuse on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at Manley Fieldhouse. The Great Danes and Orange traded wins in the first four games before UAlbany won the decisive fifth game, 15-12.

Shelby Goldman registered 17 kills and Ashley Green chipped in with 10. Blair Buchanan tallied 64 assists, marking the third time in her last four matches that she has recorded at least 60 helpers. Ashley DeNeal amassed a match-high 30 digs, while the UAlbany team totaled 11 team blocks.

For the Orange (13-4), Kelly Duan and Kristen Conway each finished with 18 kills. The loss snapped a perfect 6-0 start for the Orange at home this season.

The Great Danes (11-5), winners of five straight matches, will be back in action on Friday at 7 p.m. when Iona visits University Gymnasium.
