A couple of thoughts

As much as I would like to I don't think I'll be able to make the Varisty Club meeting tonight. Hopefully those who attend will post about what happens there.

I like Charlie Voelker's projections for attendance in today's TU. 2,000 or so a game this year, in the 3000s next year and selling out the RACC the year after. I hope it goes quicker than that but 2500-3000 with some noisy students would provide a nice home court advantage.

Kudos to the students in the RACC lot on gamedays. My wife and I were commenting on how unpleasant it must be to stand out there for an hour+ before the games in tempatures of 0 degrees and below. To their credit they are always friendly despite the temps and nice ambassadors to the RACC.

If more students show up tonight I credit Alum73s candy throwing as much as the marketing of Charlie Voelker. He may want to change his handle to "The Candyman."

I understand our desire to beat Siena in every contest we have with them, I also want us to win, but I don't revel in their demise as some of you do. I would prefer a rivalry like Louisville/ Kentucky, Cincinnatti/Xavier; where we are both good. Iwould like Siena and Albany in the post season. I want them to win all their non AE games.

shame on you 73! i have listened to countless jabs of 'siena superiority' from family, friends, and students over the years ... no sight of a day when i'll view their success with celebration ... saint struggles in 04-05 are a just comeuppance ..."It's not just basketball ..."
