Dane Pound
Realizing that Bing doesn't play football and that historically Albany-Stony Brook has been the biggest game on the calendar in most sports (outside Siena). It's seems to be the past few years there have been as many or more important games between Bing and Albany than Stony Brook. I'm thinking mostly of lacrosse, men's and women's basketball and most recently volleyball.
UAalum72
The easy drive down Warren Anderson's driveway gives UA-Bing crowds an intensity that you don't get when SB fans aren't here.
UA66
In the past, competition against Stony Brook attracted more attention, largely because there are so many students at UA from Long Island. However, I agree that Bing. teams have been and are even more competitive with UA than Stony Brook. I think you can throw in men's soccer in the UA/BU rivalry. Bing usually had a very good soccer team and I remember some good battles in DIII days. Bing's team is a little better than us now but I think UA is showing steady improvement, especially since the Condoul days.
alum73
But, can you leave out football?
UA66
Yes, I think you can. It is the overall sentiment that determines the intensity of the rivalry.
