Danes win on the road

Recommended Posts

Great win on the road tonight. Iati was on fire in the first half-3pt shooting, driving into the lane, dishing and scoring. Doing it all-23 points, 5 assists and 2 rebounds. Levi had a rough shooting night but he and Q came up with the big free throws at the end. ESPN has Levi with 3 rebounds but I thought he had more than that. Didn't score alot of points tonight but it was enough and they toughed this one out. Everybody who played had at least two rebounds.

I was in Mass. working late this afternoon so I headed to UNH and caught the game. I'm glad I did.

Jon Iati showed real improvement. He's penetrating alot more and he has cut down on his TOs. Tonight 5 assists to 1 TO. He will struggle all year to get open looks but he is competing hard.

Levi was a nightmare in the first half 1-6 from the floor, 0 rebs and 3 TOs. But we all know he is the "Ultimate Warrior" In the last 6 or 7 minutes he scored 7 of his 14 pts and in the end he buried 2 FTs to ice the game.

"Q" struggled shooting 0-5 but grabbed 9 boards and made 2 big FTs with 14seconds left to increase our lead to 5.

Interesting Todd Martin only played 8 minutes due to UNH playing 3 guards alot but Coach Brown didn't hesitate to put him on the floor in the last minute with the game on the line.

Finally the Danes out rebounded UNH 31-30.

It's sure good to get a "W" and it was nice to see our guys smile.

Good win on the road for the depleted Danes. It appears clutch foul shooting down the stretch and solid defense allowed us to get the "W". It is nice knowing that the poor foul shooting of the previous game was just a "one of those nights" situation and did not carry over as foul shooting has been one of our strengths this season. I would like to hear the turnover stats if anybody knows them.Glad that we will not have to hear/read that stat regarding consecutive on the road losses anymore. Congratulations to all involved for persevering and displaying true grit and determination. Hopefully this "W" will pick up the spirits and confidence of a team that has weathered extreme adversity. They deserve to feel good about themselves and to be rewarded for their hard work.

DOWNTOWN

UA 15 - UNH 18 UA had 9 in first half they turned it over their first 3 posessions

Levi 4 - 3 in first half. Levi started in a funk but to his credit he's a warrior and fought through it.

Coutney Johnson 5 - 3 in first half
